Chapter 14 is complete: finished today (31st December) at 16:54. Total word count for the draft is 87,111. File size is 495,971 characters. This chapter is indeed the length of an average novel.
Whew.
Next stage is that I'll give it a few days, read the draft over and fix any egregious mistakes, and then turn it over to the pre-readers. They can expect to see it early next week, I hope. After that ... well, it's a very big chapter and I'm afraid the pre-reading stage will probably take a while. But things are, finally, moving to the next stage.

Biggest chapter by a wide margin, yes. It's 30% longer than the previous biggest (chapter 9).
