Today's the Day

I’m moving house today and tomorrow. The packers will be arriving in just less than an hour. I’ve done all the prep I can think of, and now there’s just waiting to see how it turns out.

I have over 4000 books to move, so this will be a big job.

Kind of nervous.

Progress update—I did a reasonable amount of work on SM4200 while I was in Melbourne: typing away in my hotel room, mostly in the early morning and late evening. Subsequently threw a lot of it away (or rather, moved it into the “cut scenes” file, for future reference or use in ‘omake’ segments), because it was just meandering all over the place without getting to the point. Still, I’ve cracked 60,000 words—making chapter 14 officially the second-longest, and still growing.

Since I got back from Melbourne, nothing. Been kind of preoccupied with the move. Sorry, but at this stage I really can’t see chapter 14 being finished until after Christmas.

Hi Angus,
glad to read that you're back home safe and sound. I hope your move will proceed smoothly.
If you're needing some reading stuff added to your 4000 books - lately I've been reading through "Spirit of Fire" by Heavenly Pearl (to be found at ff.net)
And furthermore I found a new book title that seems promising: Promise of the wolves by Dorothy Hearst.
Take care!

Yup, I've read Spirit of Fire, and you're right, it's excellent. But I'm ashamed to say I'd forgotten about it until you mentioned it!

(Hmm. Have to read that again.)

Ah, just go ahead and post it-- you know we'll like it anyway.

Need a book reference?? :D Try Variable Star by Spider Robinson and Robert Heinlein.

I just read the preview! I love that even after so many years that you're still working on the story. I have a hard time comprehending the sort of dedication it takes to keep working on a 10+ year writing endeavor.

Thank you!

Angus,

I began reading 4200 when I was in high school up to the point of completion and I loved it. My favorite fan fiction by far. Then during this past summer I thought of it again and caught up. I appreciate your dedication and the story is great.

To be honest, I feel the wait is worth the story, however, the mystery of Iku pops into my head at random times and drives me crazy. I'm so intrigued and can't wait till we get more.

Thanks again.

4,000 books..... *drools* Ah, I'm jealous. I pretty much agree with Judson on Iku. She's driving me crazy, but I'm loving every minute of it. And of course, I don't finish high school until this year's over. Meh.

Well, I gotta go. If Grams and co. catch me on the net this late (let alone the computer) I'm in trouble. Have a safe and Merry Christmas Angus. Remember, you've got your loyal* (?) army of rabid fangs here to help if anything goes awry.

Fenris B. Now there's a familiar handle.

Seriously, take your time, just promise that in your will you will give us the story notes if you die before you finish. I must know what happens. This story burns in my brain-- it is SO good-- good enough for me to follow it for what seems like nigh on 10 years.

Awesome story. Blazing story. Good enough to publish and outdo Naoko herself story.

Familiar? And you haven't even left me a name to track down. Hm.

Anywho, a happy freaking New Year to you Angus. Watch out for bottle rockets and if you have any crackers drop them and runs as soon as you hear the sirens.

LOL I am Black Beyond to the moonies out there. Or I guess I am. Fenris just sounds familar... but it's been a while.

I say again-- I love this story. I love the baddies. I still think Chibi-usa's down there handling the minions.. in body, if not spirit. No way to tell, really.

"See, it turns out that ... that is, we kind of think that ... well, he
might be, er, Tuxedo Kamen reborn. You've been dating Queen Serenity's
husband, Kin-chan. Try not to let it go to your head."

I got a good laugh out of that. I'm such a fan of your fiction, I've been checking back often for any sort of updates. :)

*sigh* i have to apologize for that post....i had stayed up all night top read the last 2 or 3 chapters...and i was needless to say excited! LOL...so yeah, no sleep and such a great story (plus chocolate!)had me well...a little OVER excited. But seriously, this is on par with the original, you even keep the older senshi the way they should be (and the part where Endimiyon was singing the Mulan song (which is a fave btw) just killed me! Original, and inspiring, ...ok I'll stop now! Looking forward to the rest, in time! (i could actually see this as an anime in my head....XD)
