Okay, I've bitten the bullet. There's a teaser segment for chapter 13 posted—the first 7000 words or so. It's not linked off the main page, because I see it as something of a reward for those who still read this. ^_^
You can find it here. Text-only for now, I'm afraid, because that's how I write. (I don't even use Word. Just plain text.)

awesome teaser, so totally worth the wait.
just one thing, that glowing light that gets brighter throughout the scene kinda confuses me a bit, for some reason. like i finally understand where you were going with it after the end of the scene, but it was overly confusing. or else i was just too tired to delve into your awesome writing XD
