Progress

Now up to 18,000 words. I seem to have slowed down a bit, but not too much. Still going well.

On the other hand, the last 6000 words have been straight dialogue. I really hope this doesn't turn out too dry. The segment has been planned for a very long time; I just never thought it would turn out this long. But there's a reasonable bit of action at the beginning of the chapter (as seen in the teaser I posed a while ago), and another fairly solid action sequence later on. We'll see; I'll be very interested to hear what the pre-readers have to say.

Meanwhile the new series of Doctor Who has just started screening in the UK. At last! Good first episode.

I just recently got into Dr Who via my fiance. I LOVE IT!

:)

I can't wait for the next chapter! I've been following this story religiously for the past 2-3 years at least!

Hmm, wonder if you could ever get this turned into a sequal for Sailor Moon???

Thanks, Jana...and, uh, yeah, not very likely, eh? ^_^ The mock-anime "Queen Serenity and her Senshi," on the other hand, might almost work -- painful though the idea is! (Intentionally painful, of course.)

i'm with Jana, this would make a fantastic sequel.

if the dialogue is important, and helps us learn something new, which most of your dialogue so far has been that way or at the very least been entertaining, i'm all for it.

ooo pre-reader! what does it take to be one? ;D j/k i'm sure its your friends or something. ^_^

can't wait to read the new chapter! great job on all your hard work!

Actually, I've only got one pre-reader that I've actually met. I do have friends who are, or used to be, in the fanfic scene (Jaelle and Lady Orla), but SM4200 was never really their kind of story.

My pre-reader list is basically made up of volunteers. It started with Sandy Drobic, who kept posting such helpful comments as each chapter was released that I asked him if he'd like to do it before the chapters went up. From there, the list has grown and shrunk, adding one or two people at a time. Basically, it's made up of people who're interested and who've demonstrated that they can give helpful advice (as opposed to saying "I liked it").

If you really want to be on the list, let me know ... but I'm really not looking for anyone at present; I have enough 'helpers' to give me pretty good coverage.

That's pretty neat. I'd love to be a pre-reader, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to offer very good conscructive criticism. I'm sure the others can offer much better advice. Besides, I'd probably be too busy squeeing over the chance to read the new chapter before anyone else to really look at it objectively.

I wouldn't object to a pre-reader trial run ;) I'm kidding....partially.

Oh, Doctor Who? I've been hearing talk of it, but I've never seen it. I saw a commercial for it recently on the public broadcasting channel, but it didn't have clips from the show, just a mysterious title screen with enigmatic music and an air time. That and talk about the show has me intrigued. I just might try to catch it.
