And after all that…

So much for self-pity. Tonight, sat down and cranked out 500 words, almost effortlessly.

Huh.

Congratulations! I really can't wait for your next chapter, Angus.

Don't worry about occasional dry spells. We understand.

An update on my birthday-- I'm sorry I missed it. But Happy Birthday to me! I'm 22.

I'm glad to hear you haven't forgotten us. I would die not knowing what happens, I would so die. I've been reading this sotry so long-- it's seen me through ALL of my boyfriends. No, really. I didn't date all all when I started reading this, and now I'm on like, my sixth serious boyfriend. And reading your story has keep me from doing the sobby whiny zomg life is over thing each time. It's very intense and attention-consuming-- I can say no other story draws me in so well that I can read so many times.

:/

I think I'm in love with your story. It's certainly held my attention longer than anything else in my life so far. Mmm. I don't know what to think about that.

Jessica--

Okay, I don't quite know what to say here -- except that I feel humbled. And, well, thank you. And happy birthday!

And chapter 14 now stands at 36757 words.

Question!

Will we be seeing Michiru soon? :D

And oh man oh man, I see a lot of angst coming down her lane.

36757 words *drools*

I do so love long chapters. Please don't hesitate to upload it once it is done. We don't care about typos. *winks* It can be replaced with a beta-ed version anytime. :)

Are you going to end in a cliffhanger this time?

Either way, I am eagerly anticipating the new chapter. Checking your page daily now.

Okay, taking you in order—

ledde: We'll be seeing Michiru, but not for a while. And, yeah, there may be a certain amount of angst. ^_^ (Actually, my original outline had that as a comic scene, with her hitting on Suzue pretty strongly. But I don't think I'll be doing that.)

Julie: Don't hold your breath. There's a lot done, but just my outline of what I've got left to write for this chapter is over a thousand words. Argh! This chapter may not get as big as chapter 9, but it's going to be huge.

Funny thing…back when I first plotted it out, I thought it was going to be fairly small. Well, at this stage I think chapter 15 is going to be fairly small. But we'll see. ^_^

You know, that's not really a bad idea considering Michiru's supposed to move on and stuff. But I agree, haha, unlikely as it would be, Suzue's reaction would have been worth another 2 years of waiting ^_^.

Out of curiosity as a fellow fanfiction writer, how -do- you make your outlines for monster chapters like this one? I usually plan segmentwise but it feels like yours would have been like writing a second story if done in the same way.

Ledde: I think I'll answer this in a top-level post, actually, but in brief, there's nothing special about it; it really is just planning it out segment-wise.
A "segment" outline may be quite short, of course, but turn into something much larger. In chapter 14, for example, the outline "Iku at home. General nastiness." turned into 2300 words of extreme nastiness. But I generally know what I want to do with a scene; the outline is largely reminders, plus something to help me arrange the chapter as a whole.
