Still here, still writing

Yup, been a while since I posted last. (Damn, nearly a month!)

I haven't been making nearly as much progress as I'd have liked for a while, because there were a couple of scenes that I'd written that were pushing the story into some uncomfortable, and unjustifiable, directions. (Uncomfortable I don't mind so much. Unjustifiable, I mind a lot.) I had to do some serious thinking and a fair bit of rewriting to make them work. And then, lately, I've been bogged down in a scene that, while it's fairly important (to me, at least; it's not actually critical to the overall story-line), is nevertheless incredibly tedious to actually write. It's nearly finished, thank goodness. Then I can go on to a scene that will probably be a bit more fun: namely, Liam getting his memories awoken. (Ha!)

Anyway, status report. Chapter 14 is at 25,733 words. And, sad to say, there's quite a lot to go. This is going to be a big chapter. Hopefully not as big as chapter 9, but the way things are going that wouldn't actually surprise me. We'll see.

As always, thanks to those of you who are still waiting to read it, and especially to those who read this and take a moment to drop me a line. It's always welcome.

Personal note. If any of you enjoy classical piano, you may like to take a look at this. It's a video of my elder brother, who's a professional pianist and a professor at Florida State University, giving a short performance. I'm no expert, but I think it's pretty good. There's also an article on him here.

(Obviously, by mentioning this I'm breaking my alias, but what the hell. It's not like I try that hard to maintain it anyway. Just for the record, no, my name obviously isn't "Angus," but that actually is what I prefer to be called, even in real life.)

Hey, Angus!

Looking forward to the next chapter, remember, quality is worth the wait.

And as for your brother... it was a privilege to listen. Heh, and made me kick myself for not keeping up with my music. He's incredible. :)

I will wait forever, swear. As long as the internet functions. I swear it seems I've been reading this story since I was 13 or 14, and now I'm 21. Every chapter is a gold mine, and I think because they are so long I really don't mind the wait. Yes, it is agonizing, but so very worth it.

I reread everything about once every six months or so. Love it each and every time. I'm actually anxious about the new Sailormars. I don't think I want to know about her home life. :/ But in this weird way, I know I have to, to understand her better. Because she is one odd little girl. Seriously. o.O You have such dynamic characters.

So ... what did you update on the SM4200 page on the 13th, anyway? :)

I just came by your site for a re-read of SM 4200 and of course, to check for an update... and noticed your blog link for the first time. *bashes head against desk* I'm so glad you are working on the next chapter and especially thrilled that it is proving to be a long one. Yay!

I'm a long time fan. I've sent you feedback a few times if I remember correctly, but its been years (sorry!). I've read all your fantastic stories and SM 4200 is my favorite. You have a skill for creating charming original characters that shine in fanfic and I am very grateful you are still writing. Thank you very much!

=)

I'm so happy this is still being written.

I wish it were done! But I'm not complaining.

It says a lot I think that I first read this a very long time back (I want to say 5-6 years ago but I'm not sure if it was written then) and could still remember the name and bothered to look it up to see if it got finished.

So hopefully that makes you feel good!

Hmm, been a while since I posted, hasn't it? I am still working, though, and there's been a fair bit of progress since then.

Hadn't noticed that the links were dead -- thanks. The pages have moved. I've updated the links, though, so they should work again.

Hey, so when do you think the chapter will be done?

I gotta say, I just sat down yesterday and read the whole thing in one big stretch. Missed out school and everything heh.

And oh wow, its with stories like this that you find yourself lacking for words to say. "Awesome" and "full of win" just don't justify it, or get even close.

I never was a huge fan of SM but the fandom has inspired a ridiculous amount of topquality fanfiction and 4200 goes up there with the cream of the cream. This was simply a fantastic story. Writing next-generation stories are mostly hard to read due to vast amount of original characters you have to deal and get familiar with but you really managed. Oh god, I love Dhiti, LOL! Drawing a comparison with her and Ami was just such a huge freak out that you couln't get enough.

Uranus's character was really a surprise, a religious devote as Haruka's successor was hugely difficult to accept at a start but even there you managed. Suzue is growing to become a favourite.

I'll be keeping tabs on this mate :D. Good luck writing ^_^

p.s oh man, do I sense a lot of Michiru angst incoming or what.

i just had the pleasure of listening to your brother play, and i must say he's bloody brilliant. piano is one of those things i've always had a secret love for, and always wished i'd learned how to play. seeing someone play that is not only brilliant, but simply exudes his love for it, is refreshing, and makes my fingers itch for the chance to learn.

thank you so much for sharing, and someday i hope to hear more!

good luck with the current chapter, i'm getting excited :D
